Miyama-kirishima (Kyushu Azalea) in Tashirobaru Area
Tashirobaru is a basin on the Chijiwa Fault, surrounded by Mt. Kusenbudake and Mt. Azumadake, and extends to the north of Unzen mountains. Here, you can enjoy flowers of Miyama-kirishima (Kyushu azalea) in spring, flowers of Yamaboushi (Japanese dogwood) in eary summer, and colored leaves in autumn. You can also enjoy hiking and bird watching at Mt. Kusenbudake and Mt. Azumadake by using the Kyushu Nature Trail.
From May to October, camping grounds are open for the visitors to enjoy outdoor activities in natural environments.
